My scooter is back on the road and I couldn’t be happier. I took it out on Sunday to do a scoot/LRT outing to visit NU for some stuff I forgot on Saturday and to drop into the Market for my usual paper. I wish I could say it was awesome, but on Sundays the train runs with nine-minute headways in Ottawa. I know it’s light years better than the pre-LRT bus system, but I twice missed the train just as it was leaving the platform. It adds up – 18 minutes on this trip waiting for trains. It’s not the worst thing in the world, and later that afternoon I scooted to Westboro Books on relatively uncongested streets – a straight shot at mostly full speed. So that was great.
