Last year I was very pleased with the planter I bought from Raised Garden Beds. The extra height is appreciated. I stuck too many plants in it and it became a jungle by September. This year I’ve added a second planter and filled it with old logs I’d been leaving to rot in the garden plus a year’s worth of backyard compost. I only plan on planting six plants this year, half Aunt Ruby Yellows and half Gold Medals. The Aunt Ruby’s I’ll start sprouting in a couple of weeks with saved seeds, and I picked up the Gold Medals from gaiaorganics.ca over the weekend. I’ve also got plans to plant more of these marigolds from saved seed, and I’ve also picked up some lavender that I need to figure out when and how to sow.
